Transport ministry officials in Jerusalem said last week that Air Madrid, which had suspended its flights to Israel, after falling into financial difficulties will be replaced on the route by a new Spanish airline, Air Europa.
 
Air Europa, is the air travel division of Globalia Corporacion. The company operates a fleet of 38 Boeing airplanes on a network that includes most of the Spanish territory, European and North-African routes including Paris, Milan, Rome, Warsaw, Prague, Budapest, Tunis and Marrakech, as well as transatlantic destinations such as Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Venezuela and the Dominican Republic.
 
The airline will begin operating on June 1 two weekly commercial flights between Madrid and Tel Aviv, with plans to add another weekly flight in July.
