C.A.L. Cargo Airlines wins QEP Envirotainer accreditation

C.A.L. Cargo Airlines has been accredited as a Qualified Envirotainer Provider (QEP) by Envirotainer, a manufacturer of active temperature-controlled containers for air transport.

QEP accreditation means that C.A.L. Cargo Airlines has incorporated Envirotainer-related elements into its quality-management system, as defined in Chapter 17 of the International Air Transport Association's (IATA) Perishable Cargo Regulations. That portion of the rules relates to the movement by air of temperature-sensitive healthcare products.

Envirotainer launched the program at the end of 2006, following consultation with major healthcare companies. Airline and freight-forwarder participants in the accreditation program must demonstrate how their quality systems - including training, procedures and audits - comply with the QEP program standards.

Envirotainer has audited and accredited C.A.L. Cargo Airlines stations in Tel Aviv, Liege and New York. Envirotainer has recently decided to focus solely on serving the pharmaceutical and Biotech markets with its fleet of more than 3,500 active temperature-controlled air cargo containers.
