Portuguese media reports that Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has bought a second-hand Gulfstream G200 twin-engine business jet, made by Israel Aerospace Industries Ltd. (IAI) for which he paid US$20.5 million.

According to Portuguese newspaper "Correo da Manha," the Real Madrid forward, 30, took his inaugural flight in the private jet this week when flying from his home in Madrid to London to watch the premier of the film documentary about him.

The Gulfstream G200 can hold up to 14 passengers as well as two pilots and has separate bathrooms for crew members and passengers, wardrobes, internet access, telephone, fax, microwave, electric oven, fridge for drinks and entertainment systems.

The plane has two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW306A turbofans, producing 6,040 pounds of force each and a range of 6,296 kilometers and cruising speed of 850 kilometers (Mach 0.75) per hour.

The G200 was developed and designed by IAI and made its debut in 1997 as the Galaxy but was renamed the Gulfstream following a collaboration agreement with US company Gulfstream, which has marketing rights for the jet and also produces the luxury interiors.

Originally designed by Israel Aircraft Industries, the G200 rolled off the production line on December 19, 2011, with a total of 250 units built. In 2011 the G200 was superseded by the improved G280.
