EL AL upgrades London-Luton route, adds daily frequency

Today EL AL operates 6 weekly flights to Luton on convenient daily flights

Glyn Jones, Managing Director at Luton Airport in London and the airport management held a Purim party for some 800 travel agents and tourism coordinators, in cooperation with EL AL.    

                                                                                            

The event was held at the Avenue Hall at Airport City which was designed in the style of an English garden. The “Queens Guards” stood at the entrance and a model of Big Ben was set up inside the hall.    

                                                                                      

Attending the event were UK Ambassador Mathew Gold, EL AL CEO Elyezer Shkedy, Chair of the Travel Agents Association Kobi Karni. 

                                                

EL AL CEO Elyezer Shkedy related at the event: "We met two years ago and I said then that I really love London but could not visit at the time. I promised then that we would continue to work towards strengthening the route and that is what we did. Today EL AL operates 6 weekly flights to Luton on convenient daily flights.”  

                 

Luton Airport Glyn Jones, Managing Director Luton Airport greeted his guests in Hebrew, wishing them a Happy Purim and added: “ I am pleased to be here in Tel Aviv again and to host this event with our esteemed partner, EL AL Airlines. Luton Airport is the ideal option for passengers; it is closer, faster and cheaper.”       

                      

As of March 2013, EL AL will operate 17 weekly flights to London – 11 to Heathrow (morning and evening Sunday – Thursday and a morning flight on Friday) and six weekly flights to Luton at 7:30am (Friday at 5:30am). As of April some of the Luton flights will be operated on EL AL's upgraded 767 aircraft including Economy Class Plus seats. In July 2013 EL AL will add another 5 weekly frequencies to Luton. The total number of weekly flights to London on EL AL's summer timetable will reach 22, 11 of them to Luton
