El Al Israel Airlines Ltd. workers committee declared a labor dispute last week due to what it terms "a systematic and one-sided violation of agreements with employees and company's refusal to increase pay and bonuses."

At a meeting of El Al employees in which 2,500 of the carriers 6,000 employees took part, the workers protested management refusal to negotiate pay increase and decided unanimously not to sign new labor contract unless salaries will be increased.

El Al workers committee chairman Asher Edri said in the meeting that the management has consistently refused to discuss pay rise despite the profit made last year.
