French Civil Aviation Authorities rejected easyJet's application for three weekly Tel Aviv-Paris flights

easyJet, the British low cost airline announced last month plans to fly between Ben Gurion Airport and Paris's Charles de Gaulle airport, in the summer.

The plans, according to local aviation circles, won't be taking off because France's DGAC civil aviation authority has decided that the air traffic is too congested to make room for a new route.

easyJet, the biggest low-cost company operating in Israel, said that it reserves its right to appeal the French Civil Aviation Authority's decision. This service was supposed to be the ninth route operated by the British airline to and from Israel, and it joins four new routes launched in the past few months to Rome, Berlin, Milan and Gatwick Airport near London.

The company also offers flights to Tel Aviv from Basel, Geneva, Manchester and London Luton Airport. Meanwhile, El Al Israel Airlines has announced its plan to add a daily Boeing 737 – 900 flight to its three daily flights on the Tel Aviv-Paris route, thereby operating up to 23 weekly flights to the French capital.
