Germany's low-cost Germania Airline, which has recently began direct flights to and from Israel, is planning direct flights from Eilat to Düsseldorf.

 

The airline operates regular twice a week flights between Tel Aviv and Hamburg, in northern Germany, and once a week between Tel Aviv and Baden-Baden/Karlsruhe, in southern Germany’s Black Forest, which has become one of the more popular destinations for Israeli families.

 

The once a week flights to/ from Düsseldorf are due to begin in October 2015. The flights will land at Ovda airport, 41km north of Eilat.

 

Germania is one of Germany’s longest established airlines: since 1979, every year millions of passengers use the carrier’s distinctive green-and-white aircraft to fly on holiday, visit friends and family or travel to Europe‘s major cities. Germania‘s route network currently includes more than 150 international destinations in Europe, North Africa and West Asia. Since Summer 2014 Germania operates 23 aircraft and employs over 850 people. Germania currently operates ten Boeing B737-700, nine Airbus A319 aircraft and five Aribus 321. More and more destinations are operated by Airbus A319 and Airbus 321.
