Royal Jordanian Airlines has resumed flights to Israel after more than three weeks of hiatus, the company stated last Sunday.

The airline halted flights to Israel alongside other international airlines in the middle of Operation Protective Edge due to security concerns on July 23.

Yet, while nearly all the other airlines resumed flying shortly afterward, Royal Jordanian did not. The airline has a daily flight from Ben-Gurion International Airport to Amman.

Most Israelis on that flight are using Amman as a layover to other destinations. Royal Jordanian Airlines.

Israel Country Manager Dvora Bruchstein explained: "Royal Jordanian never stopped flying to Israel but only suspended flights for safety and security operational reasons. The company does not fly to other cities around the world that are in war situations." Jordan national carrier is one of the few airlines in the Arab world that has regular flights to Ben Gorion airport in Israel due to the peace treaty between the two countries.

On Thursday Jordan's Royal Jordanian Airline cancelled a morning flight to Tel Aviv due to the security situation. Hamas threatened to hit Israel's Ben Gurion International Airport Thursday morning, after the ceasefire with Israel was broken and they renewed rocket fire out of Gaza.
