Irish budget airline Ryanair, Europe's largest airline when measured by scheduled passengers carrier, has launched a new route from Bratislava, Slovakia, to Eilat Ovda.
The route is part of Ryanair 2016 winter plan, with two flights per week scheduled. This new route adds to the 3 routes already operating by the airline to Ovda, from Budapest, Hungary, Kaunas, Lithuania, and Krakow, Poland.
Ryanair operates over 320 Boeing 737-800 300 aircraft. and the average age of the planes is 5.5 years. The airline has been characterised by its rapid expansion, a result of the deregulation of the aviation industry in Europe in 1997 and the success of its low-cost business model. Currently the company has 183 Boeing 737 -800 on order and an option for another 100 Boeing 737 MAX 200.
This expansion means that by 2024 it will have over 520 planes in operation and be able to carry 160 million passengers a year.
