The Israel Airports Authority (IAA) is about to publish a new tender for building a hotel near Terminal 3 at Ben Gurion International Airport.

The tender will be according to the design, build, operate, transfer (DBOT) method. The hotel would be business-oriented, and would offer services such as meeting and conference rooms, a fitness club, indoor pool, dining room, and a bar for US$100-150 a night.

The IAA announced that the hotel would have 140-400 rooms, with meeting and event halls, and would cover 7.5 dunam (1.875 acres). The tender winner will invest in the development and financing of the project, and will operate it for 25 years. It was also announced that Ben Gurion Airport had an approved building plan for a hotel according to the Ministry of Tourism's definitions.

The tender winner will be responsible for the detailed design. The IAA noted that the Ben Gurion Airport hotel project will put the airport on the same level as the world's leading airports, where there is a hotel servicing the passengers.
