The Israel Airports Authority announced last Wednesday that Israeli air - cargo operations company Maman - Cargo Terminals and Handling Ltd. has been awarded a 15-year franchise to continue the operation of the air- cargo terminal at Ben-Gurion International Airport.

Their existing contract was set to expire in March 2014.

Maman-Cargo Terminals & Handling Ltd., through its subsidiaries, provides logistic and aviation services in Israel.

The company’s logistics services include supply chain management primarily third party logistics, storage, distribution, added value, bonded warehousing, and international delivery and transportation services.

Maman's winning bid was for NIS 21.5 million, NIS 6.5 million over and above the minimum specified in the tender.

The Israel Airports Authority noted that last year, Maman handled 60% of the 290,000 tons of air-cargo handled at Ben-Gurion International Airport, generating revenues of NIS 151,122,000.
