Transportation Ministry announced last week that Ayit Aviation & Tourism Services ltd. won the Ministry's tender to operate a regular daily air service between Tel Aviv and Rosh Pinain the Upper Galilee.
Ayit will start with two flights a day in either direction, starting in a month.
According to statement issued by the company the maximum one-way fare will be NIS 185 for a resident of northern communities, and NIS 260 for other passengers. The ministry will subsidize the difference.
Ayit Aviation has three planes, two of which are leased. Currently, the airline's main route is between Tel Aviv and Sde Teman, near Beersheva.
It is understood that the company is discussing with the Ministry of Transportation to extend the line to Kiryat Shmona.
