Data released last week by Ben Gurion International Airport indicate an increase of passengers traffic through the airport. During September 2008, 1.07 million passengers passed through the Airport, 9.3% up compared to the corresponding month last year.
Since the beginning of 2008 (January - September), 8.6 million passengers passed through Ben Gurion International Airport, an increase of 11% than the corresponding period last year.
Israel's international air carriers flew about 400,000 passengers during September representing about 38.9% of all travelers, a rise of 4.2% compared with last year. In addition there was a 16% increase in traffic on internal flights at the airport to 35,115 passengers from 30,273 in September 2007.
The airport also noted that the three most popular international destination for flights during September were Turkey, Spain and England. Antalya in Turkey was the most popular destination.
