In a lecture given by Mr. Ze’ev Sarig, Managing Director, Ben-Gurion International
airport, at the Port2Port event held last week, Sarig revealed a quality survey
carried out by the Airports Council International (ACI) which found that Ben-Gurion
Airport is in first place among airports in the Middle East and in second place among airports with annual passenger traffic of between 5 -15 million.

The rating was based on the results of about 200,000 customer-satisfaction questionnaires completed by passengers throughout the world in 2007. The survey directly examined passengers' assessments of 34 components, from check-in until reaching the departure gate.

For several years Ben-Gurion Airport has been rated high on the list worldwide in various areas. In line with the IAA's policy of constant improvement, the Authority's council recently decided to invest about one billion NIS on safety and security. During 2007 a record number of passengers passed through Ben-Gurion Airport - more than ten million. The prize will be awarded in a ceremony at the beginning of April 2008, in Shanghai, China.
