Monthly report on passenger traffic at Ben Gurion Airport published by the Israel Airports Authority show that 1.2 million passengers on 9,000 flights passed through Ben Gurion International Airport in September, including 1.1 million international passengers, 3% more than in the corresponding month.

 

Domestic traffic rose 23.52%  to 65,000. Israeli airlines El Al, Israir and Arkia carried 446,000 passengers in September, 39% of all passengers, and 0.4% more than in September 2010.

El Al Israel Airlines Ltd. carried 24% more passengers than in September 2010 and Israir Airlines and Tourism Ltd. carried 30% more passengers, however, Arkia Airlines Ltd. saw a 9% drop in the number of passengers.

 

The greatest gains among the foreign carriers were registered by KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Ukraine's Aerosvit Airlinesand Bulgarian Air VIA.

The most popular city to fly to was Paris with 57,000, 5.2% more than in the corresponding month.  while the most popular country was the United States with 115,000, 9.9% of all passengers in September. Countries showing the biggest gains wereNetherlands, Spain and Russia.
