British Airways said last week that as from the end of March 2006, it will increase of 20% its capacity, adding 1,380 seats on the London-Tel Aviv route.
According to a statement issued by Yael Katan, British Airways commercial manager in Israel the capacity increase will be made possible by introducing Boeing 777 planes on the evening flight, replacing the Boeing 767s currently used. On its morning flight, British Airways will continue to use the older Boeing 767s, which have a business class, upgraded tourist class and tourist class.
Katan added that the new Boeing 777 has a greater number of seats.
The new Boeing 777 has four classes: first class and business class, which have beds; business class plus; and an upgraded tourist class.
