British Airways is replacing Boeing 767s by former bmi Airbus A320s. The company is trying to integrate Midland International Airport into its global network

British Airways (BA) has recently announced changes to its winter 2012 route network as it continues to integrate British Midland International (bmi) into its global network.

Reports in European media suggest that the company is studying changes to its Tel Aviv service replacing its Boeing 767s by former bmi smaller Airbus A320s.

This aircraft replacement would release the larger wide-bodied 767s for use on BA long-haul global routes.

Local travel agents noted that the replacement of BA wide-bodied aircraft to a narrow-bodied aircraft, if materialized, will affect passengers' flight experience and reduce quality of service.

British Airways flies two daily flights between Tel Aviv Ben Gurion International Airport and London Heathrow, using Boeing 767s and 777s. Data released recently by Israel Airports Authority shows that British Airways carried 22,567 passengers to and from Ben Gurion Airport in May 2012, and 105,031 passengers in the five months period January-May 2012.
