The airline will operate three daily flights between Ben Gurion and Heathrow airports
British Airways have announced that they will increase the number of seats on its Tel Aviv-London route by 11%. The company will add an extra daily flight between Tel Aviv and London Heathrow on October 28, 2012.
At a press conference, British Airways Israel manager Yael Katan announced that the airline will operate three daily flights between Ben Gurion Airport and Heathrow. The airline, which is one of three airlines flying between Tel Aviv and London (the other two being EL AL and Easyjet), currently flies twice daily, seven days a week, between Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv and Heathrow Airport in London.
British Airways Israel manager also noted that the airline will replace its older Boeing 767 and 777s used on the Tel Aviv-London route with the Airbus A321, which has a higher fuel efficiency and better passenger comfort. The Airbus A321 will have economy and business class.
Local analysts noted that the 11% increase in seat capacity is an important step in the growing aviation market between the UK and Israel. Analysts noted that Easyjet has also recently raised capacity on their London flights, and are due to add flights this autumn between Manchester airport and Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport.
