Despite low rating (37) given to Israel by the world bank's Logistics Performance Index, Maman cargo terminal at Ben Gurion International Airport has been praised by British Airways World Cargo for its electronic reporting system.

British Airways World Cargo published recently a report in its "‏In Touch" official bulletin noting that Maman's electronic messages is highly efficient.

The article written by Mr. Erdogan Artuna - Area Commercial Manager, South East Europe, he noted that a survey held by the company show that Maman has a clear edge over other terminals in electronic messages reporting. He noted that 95% of the messages are digital which enables the company to advise its clients in real time the cargo status.

The new computerized system operated by Maman enables the use of Cargo-Imp ("Cargo Interchange Message Procedures") messages used by many Air Cargo Carriers which is a standard set by IATA (International Air Transport Association).

By adopting Cargo-Imp, Maman has joined Cargo 2000, an industry initiative aiming at implementing a new quality management system for the worldwide air cargo industry.
The objective is simple: to implement processes, backed by quality standards, that are measurable to improve the efficiency of air cargo.

Cargo 2000 re-engineers the air cargo transportation scheme from shipper to consignee. Individual processes in the supply chain are reduced from 40 to just 19, cutting down on operational costs and enhancing customer service.

Mr. Moti Levin, director general of Maman noted that the company had made great advances in its computer network system closing gaps between the company and its clients. The upgrade of the system enables all parties operating within the air cargo community to be connected and gain the benefits of the upgraded computerized system.
