The new rates take into account the seasonal variation in demand for air freight services and caused a surprise among local freight forwarders
El Al Cargo published last week (Thursday) its new summer freight rates which will be effective as from 1st May 2008.
In a short statement issued by the airlines cargo department it announced an increase in rates which, according to the company, take into account the seasonal variation in demand for air freight services.
The announcement was taken by surprise by many local freight forwarders and customs brokers who complained about the timing of the announcement and the short time left to discuss the issue with their customers.
