Due to a 56% increase in fuel prices, since the beginning of the year, the Ministry of Transport approved last week a request by El Al Israel Airlines to raise fares from August 22.
Following the approval was granted El Al VP commercial and industry affairs Yoav Levy indicated that the current fare increase would be rescinded if level of fuel prices fall.
According to statement released by El Al Fares to long-distance destinations such as North America (the US, Canada), the Far East, and South Africa will go up by $24. Short - distance flights to destinations such as Egypt, Cyprus, Turkey, Greece, and Hungary will go up $8; and flights to medium-range destinations such as the rest of Europe will go up $16.
