El Al chairman Israel Borovich and El Al CEO Haim Romano named last week the new Boeing 777 which is due in Israel at the end of July, "Sderot”.
The naming ceremony was held at the office of Eli Moyal, the mayor of Sderot, a Negev desert town.
El Al handed Moyal a small sample of the plane, carrying the word Shederot and invited the mayor to select 10 childern from the city to participate at the innaguration flight from New York to Israel. Both guests were later taken to see the areas most hit by the kassam missiles.
