Fares will rise by US$22- US$45, depending on the destination beginning on April 1. Brent crude has reached US$114.50 per barrel and is up more than 10% this month
El Al Israel Airlines announced last week that beginning on April 1 air fares will rise significantly due to the higher cost of fuel.
Fares will rise by US$22- US$45, depending on the destination. Fares will rise by US$22 on short and medium-haul flights and by US$45 on long-haul flights.
El Al VP commerce and aviation relations David Maimon noted that “The price of jet fuel has reached record levels. This trend forces us to adjust new prices accordingly, as has been done by most air carriers worldwide, by making minimal additions to our ticket prices.”
Brent crude has reached US$114.50 per barrel and is up more than 10% this month. It had hit a 29-month high of US$120 a barrel earlier in February.
