The Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI) signed a deal with El Al last Sunday chartering its planes to bring new immigrants to Israel.

The Jewish Agency for Israel, also known as the Sochnut, is the mandated organization in Israel in charge of immigration and absorption of Jews from the Diaspora.

JAFI Chairman Natan Sharansky said in a statement he was happy to be collaborating with the Israeli airliner, which helps bring thousands of immigrants to Israel every year.

El AL CEO Eliezer Shkedi said in response that he considered his company’s cooperation with JAFI to be of national importance.
