Electronic ticketing is done through computers, without a paper ticket being issued. The passenger is given a boarding pass at the airport upon presenting a verification confirmation.

El Al (TASE:ELAL) announced yesterday that it would allow electronic ticketing by all passengers during 2004, and not just for members of customer clubs.

Electronic ticket-holders can now use them to order bonus tickets. El Al VP commercial and industry affairs Yoav Levy predicted that electronic ticketing use would grow 50% this year.

Electronic ticketing is done through computers, without a paper ticket being issued. The ticket record is stored in the airline's computer system. The passenger is given a boarding pass at the El Al check-in at airport upon presenting a verification confirmation and personal identification. Passengers have no need to visit a travel agent to pick up their tickets.

In order to encourage electronic ticketing, El Al also announced yesterday that all people making reservations by electronic ticketing will receive 20 bonus points for each flight section.
