El Al Israel Airlines has formed a code-share cooperation agreement with Delta Air Lines on North American flights
The code-share agreement - which expands on an agreement signed several years ago between the two companies - will increase the number of destinations available to passengers on El Al flights to North American destinations in US and Canada.
El Al will be able to place its flight code on Delta flights from New York to eight US destinations: Atlanta, Washington DC, Cincinnati, Dallas, Salt Lake City, Phoenix, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Delta Air Lines is planning to introduce daily flights to and from Israel on broad-hulled Boeing 777s in March 2006.
These flights will take off from Tel Aviv at midnight, and land at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport at six in the morning. The return flight will land in Israel in the afternoon. This means that there will be another major player flying to and from the US.
