Feller added the time was right to open the airport to new operators which will offer not only internal flights but also international flights
Following the news that Arkia Airlines was about to drastically cut down number of flights from Haifa Airport, Mr. Oded Feller, president of the Haifa Chamber of Commerce, issued a statement that the airport was of utmost importance to the city of Haifa.
Feller added that it would be impossible to get into business considerations made by any commercial entity however he noted as in the case of the Mahanaim airport, when a company decided to quit the airport, the Ministry opened up the airport to other operators and soon afterwards a new operator was found.
The time was right, said feller, to open the airport to new operators which will offer not only internal flights but also international flights.
