Airlines operating regular services to and from Israel have advised that flights to New York for the Hanukkah (known as the annual Jewish Festival of Lights) and Passover (commemorates the Exodus from Egyptian slavery),holidays are completely booked.
Economists representing the airlines noted last week that the main explanation for the increase in demand is the recovery of US tourism to Israel.
Israelis are also traveling more, despite increased fuel surcharges.
International passengers through Ben-Gurion Airport are up 14.5% so far this year.
In addition the drop in the dollar exchange rate has made U.S. vacations cheaper compared to Europe with its strong Euro.
