IATA will launch theIATA Cargo Account Settlement (CASS) on August first 2011. The IATA Cargo Account Settlement (CASS) is designed to simplify the billing and setting of accounts between airlines and freight forwarders. It operates through CASSLink, an advanced global web-enabled e-billing solution.
The CASS has been in operation for more than 30 years. At the end of 2010, IATA had70 CASS offices, covering 83 export operation,14 import operations,4 domestic operations and one courier operation, collectively serving over 500 Airlines, General Sales and Service Agents (GSSA), Ground Handling Agents(GHA)and over 17,000 Freight Forwarders and setting a combined USD 29billion.
