The Israel Airport Authority ( IAA) announced last week that 8.5 million passengers passed through Ben Gurion Airport in 2005, 11% more than in 2004.
 
In a detailed statistical reporting the Airport Authority said that the number of incoming passengers rose last week by 11% to 4.25 million, and the number of outgoing passengers rose by 10.8% to 4.26 million.
 
The IAA added that the number of domestic passengers rose last year by 5% to 2.4 million.

The IAA also noted that in 2005 Ben Gurion Airport handled 62,300 flights, 5.3% more than in 2004 and 16.7% more than in 2003.
