According to figures released last week by the Israel Airports Authority, the number of international passengers - Israelis and foreigners - traveling through Ben-Gurion International Airport in 2006 was up 3.6% to 8.8 million.

Gabi Ophir, director general of the Israel Airports Authority, said in a press release that the trend of passenger growth will continue throughout 2007.

El Al, according to the statistics, flew 40.6% of these flights, Lufthansa 4.16%, Continental 3.96%, Israir 3.85% and Arkia 3.83%.
