Israel, Ukraine sign air transport protocol to encourage competitiveness

According to the new protocol, anadditional air freighter will begin operating on the Israel-Ukraine route and there will be no need to coordinate commercial activities
 
Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Transport Olexander Davydov and Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon signed a protocol last Monday which permits Israel to add an additional carrier on the route between Israel and the Ukraine.
 
According to the new protocol, anadditional air freighter will begin operating on the Israel-Ukraine route and there will be no need to coordinate commercial activities between the two sides, permitting unrestricted free trade and encourage full competitiveness.
 
It was agreed that each side will be permitted to operate 21 weekly schedule flights instead of 14 at present. In total there will be 42 weekly flights between the two countries.
 
The agreement allows to add a new destination in Ukraine Vinnitsya, located near Uman.
 
The two sides held talks last Tuesday with the aim of improving the agreement, increasing competition and developing new destinations in the two countries for additional carriers.
 
The carriers operating on the Israel Ukraine route, two from each country, are: El Al Israel Airlines Ltd., Arkia Airlines Ltd.; Aerosvit Airlines; and Donbass Aero.
