The agreement will alliw more carriers from both countries to schedule flights on routes between Tel Aviv and Budapest. Each country will be allowed to run 15 scheduled round-trip flights each week, for a total of up to 30 flights a week
Israel and Hungary signed last Monday a new bilateral aviation agreement, allowing more carriers from both countries to schedule flights on routes between Tel Aviv and Budapest.
The agreement was signed by Mr. Avi Ben-Hur, Deputy Director of Israel's Civil Aviation Authority and Mr. Gargely Director General, Hungarian Civil Aviation Administration. Each country will be allowed to run 15 scheduled round-trip flights each week, for a total of up to 30 flights a week.
Currently, El Al, the only Israeli carrier to fly to Hungary, has six scheduled flights a week, while Malיv Hungarian Airlines and other Hungarian carriers run 13 flights a week. In addition, the agreement expands the opportunity for code-sharing between carriers in both countries.
Transport Minister Yisrael Katz said that the agreement would allow Israeli carriers to fly to other destinations in Hungary, besides Budapest.
