Israel was chosen to held the conference over Mexico, Turkey and Thailand
The Israeli Science and Technology Ministry announced that the 2015 International Space Conference will be held in Jerusalem.
The decision was made at the annual conference of the International Astronautical Federation (IAF), held in Naples, Italy.
The IAF aims to advance space know-how and the development of products by encouraging international cooperation.
Its 250 member organizations around the world make it largest international body in the field of space. Israel was chosen to host the congress, with over 50 percent of the votes, and was chosen over Mexico, Turkey and Thailand. The congress, to be held in Jerusalem, is expected to draw some 3,000 visitiors.
The conference is held in collaboration with the International Academy of Astronautics and the International Institute of Space Law.
