Total air cargo movements through Israel's airports in 2010 ( January to December) amounted to 302,903 tones, up10.41% compared to 274,319 tones in the corresponding period.
The Israel Airports Authority reported that during December Ben-Gurion International Airport handled 26,197tones of air cargo compared to 28,587in December 2009, down .8.36%
In December 2010 El Al carried 5,039 tones of cargo in the belly holds of its passenger fleet, an increase of 7.32% compared to the same period a year earlier when it carried 4,695 tones and 4,568 tones onboard its freighters, an increase of 10.84%, year-on-year.
During January to December 2010 El Al carried 57,651tones of cargo in the belly holds of its passenger fleet, up19.61%compared to the same period a year earlier when it carried 48,197tones.
The other key Israeli cargo carrier, CAL, carried on its freighters 4,584 tones in December 2010, down 19.12%compared to the5,668 tones it carried a year earlier.
During January to December 2010 CAL carried49,016 tones, down 6.68%compared to 52,526tones a year earlier.
