The Israel Airports Authority handled 24,499 tones of air cargo in February. El Al carried 4,363 tons onboard its freighters, an increase of 8.95%, year-on-year
 
The Israel Airports Authority reported that during February 2011 Ben-Gurion International Airport handled 24,499 tones of air cargo compared to 25,835 in February 2009, down   5.17%.
 
The Israel Airports Authority handled 11,363 tons out of which 6,494 inbound cargo flown by passenger aircraft and 7,146 tons outbound cargo, down 2.12% compared to February 2010 during which the authority handled 11,610 tons (4,801 tons inbound and 6,808 tons outbound).
 
According to a press release issued by the Airports Authority pure air cargo carriers registered a decline in cargo. During February 2011, 13,136 tons were flown by freighters out of which 6,422 tons inbound and 6,714 tons outbound, down 7.65% compared to the parallel (14,225 tons in total, 6,135 tons inbound and 8,090 tons outbound).
 
In February 2011 El Al carried 4,105 tones of cargo in the belly holds of its passenger fleet, a drop of 3.54%  compared to the same period a year earlier when it carried 4,256 tones.
El Al carried 4,363 tons onboard its freighters, an increase of 8.95%, year-on-year.
El Al's market share in February was 33%.
 
The other key Israeli cargo carrier, CAL, carried on its freighters 5,102 tones in February 2010, down 8.95% compared to the5,604  tones it carried a year earlier.
CAL's market share in February was 38%.
