The airline's target audience includes immigrants from Russia andneighboring countries who will make family visits, businesspeople, and Russian tourists to Israel
Following the reciprocal visa waiver arrangement agreed upon by the governments of Israel and Russia, Israir Airlines and Tourism Ltd. announced it would operate four weekly flights to Moscow from the beginning of November, using a fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft.
In a statement issued by the company last week the airline noted it believes that the cancellation of visas between the two countries will greatly increase tourism between Russia and Israel. The airline's target audience includes immigrants from Russia andneighboring countries who will make family visits, businesspeople, and Russian tourists to Israel.
The press release also noted that the outward flights to Moscow will operated on Mondays and Fridays with the return flights on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The fare will be $418.
Some of the return flights will land at Ben Gurion airport and the others at the Ovda airport in Eilat.
Earlier this year the company announced that for its planned flights between Moscow and Tel Aviv it agreed to purchase the Serena-2.3 computerized reservation system from US company TAIS. The software is compatible with all aspects of Transportation Clearing House (TCH) software, including authorized standard ticket forms and Electronic Ticketing (ET).
