Israir has taken delivery of its two ATR 72-500 turboprops that it had ordered. The new aircraft are used to enhance its domestic offering

 

On October 4th Israir held its annual meeting at Eilat to mark the introduction of new aircraft to the company. The meeting was held in the presence of Eilat Mayor Meir Yitzhak Halevi, Zvika Yochman, chairman of IDB Tourism, Raz gur-arie General Manager, Dror Bahat, assistant general manager, commerce & aviation for IDB Tourism, representatives from the hotel sector in Eilat and the Egyptian consul in Eilat.

                                                                                                                                    In his opening speech Zvika Yochman, chairman of IDB Tourism (2009) Ltd. said that during the year Israir has taken delivery of its two ATR 72-500 turboprops that it had ordered. The new aircraft are used to enhance its domestic offering.

 

Yochman noted that at the beginning of the year the company introduced its two new Airbus A320.

 

Israir, part of IDB Tourism group, the tourism branch of the Israeli holding company IDB Holdings, uses the two 72-seat aircraft to increase capacity and frequencies on its main route from Tel Aviv Sde Dov (City Airport) to Eilat (Red Sea Resort).

 

The company offers scheduled and charter flights from bases in Eilat, Haifa, and Tel Aviv to about 20 destinations in Europe, Israel with a fleet that includes both jets and turboprop aircraft.
