Following the signing last month of a new aviation agreement to enable further competition on airline routes between the countries it was announced that Belgium's low-cost airline Jetair would soon be operating low- cost flights along the route between Israel and Belgium.

Jetair, a member of the TUI tourism group, will run, starting this spring, three flights a week between Liege and Ben-Gurion Airport.

At present, the options to fly to Belgium are confined to El Al and Brussels Airlines, El Al is currently the sole Israeli airline with scheduled flights to Brussels.

It is expected that Israel will soon issue a tender for another airline to operate flights between the countries
