Lufthansa announced cancellation of 40+ flights to Israel in December to February period

A company statement noted that the cancellation is due to the sharp decline in the number of passengers during the winter season.

German airline Lufthansa, has announced that its winter schedule to Israel will include the cancellation of some 40+ LH flights between Israel to Europe. A company statement noted that the cancellation is due to the sharp decline in the number of passengers during the winter season.

The announcement noted however that Lufthansa was cutting flights all over the world "due to a seasonal drop in demand".

Lufthansa will reduce some 30 flights on the Tel Aviv-Frankfurt route from December to February and 15 flights on the Tel Aviv-Munich route.

According to the announcement most of the canceled flights will be in the middle of the week or on Saturdays, when the number of passengers is expected to drop significantly.

The company, however, plans to keep the Sunday and Thursday flights, which have higher than average demand.
