Lufthansa decreasing capacity on Tel Aviv routes will; operate Airbus A321

The airline will operate narrow-body airplanes on its short routes
 
Lufthansa announced last week that flights to and from Tel Aviv will be operated as early as October by narrow-bodied, short haul aircraft. The change to a new aircraft means a 15% decrease in the seat capacity on the airline's flights to and from Israel.
 
As from the next winter season, beginning on October 28, 2012, Lufthansa flights from Frankfurt and Munich to Tel Aviv will be operated by Airbus A321 models. An Airbus A320 is already in use on the Berlin-Tel Aviv route. The change into smaller aircraft will enable the company to fly earlier - 19:00 from Frankfurt to Tel Aviv and arrive Israel at midnight.
 
The company noted in a press release that it was decided that planes that serves long haul routes will only be operated on longer routes and not on relatively short routes like the Frankfurt-Tel Aviv and Munich-Tel Aviv routes.
 
The company added that it intends to continue and increase the number of flights to and from Israel and will approach the German aviation authorities in order to reopen the bilateral aviation agreements between Israel and Germany so that it would be able to add flights on existing routes and open new routes.
