The company will operate four weekly flights between Tel Aviv and Munich on the wide-bodied Airbus A340-330 which can carry 12-15 tons of cargo
 
Lufthansa cargo Israel announced last week that it will resume cargo flights on the Tel Aviv and Munich route from April 26th.
 
Lufthansa advised that it is resuming flights from Tel Aviv to Munich after a six-year break. In a statement issued by the company it noted that the company will operate four weekly flights on the wide-bodied Airbus A340-330 which can carry 12-15 tons of cargo. The new service will increase by 30% the volume of cargo capacity offered to the Israeli trading community.
 
The flight will depart on Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Flight number LH688 departs Munich at 09:45 CET, arriving in Tel Aviv at 14:20. The return flight, LH689 departs Tel Aviv at 15:45 arriving in Munich at 18:45 CET.
 
In a ceremony held at Lufthansa Cargo office at Maman air cargo terminal, Ben Gurion Airport with the presence of Lufthansa cargo Management Mr. Hasso Schmidt, regional director for Austria, East Europe, Turkey & Israel, Mr. Uwe Glunz, Head of Team Sales Steering & Marketing Europe & Africa, Mr. Joe Reid - District Sales and Handling Manager of Ireland and Mr. Shaul Grimberg Country Manager Israel.
 
Mr. Grimberg noted that the new service will also enable Israeli importers and exporters to ship cargo to 80 world wide destinations including the USA, the Far East and Africa.
 
The new aviation agreement signed between Israel to Germany last month enables both countries to operate up to 30 weekly scheduled flights compared to 18 flights until now. The new agreement also allows for flights to be operated to new destinations in Germany.
