a new low-cost air carrier from France will offer low cost weekly flight between Tel Aviv and Marseille
The French company New Axis Airways, based in Marseille, announced last week that it had received the necessary permits from Aviation Authorities to begin offering low-cost flights between Tel Aviv and Marseille.
Axis Airways is an airline based in Marseille. It operates domestic and international charter flights and cargo services on behalf of European clients.
Its main bases are Marseille Provence Airport and Paris Charles De Gaulle.
The opening of the route to Tel Aviv has been made possible as a result of the recently signed aviation agreement between Israel and France.
In a statement issued in France the new entrant said that beginning next month, the company will fly once a week from Tel Aviv to Marseille and from Marseille to Tel Aviv.
New Axis Airways will compete with El Al, which also operates two flights a week to the same destination. It has been advised that air fares will begin at $99 for a one-way ticket.
