Mr. Gideon Siterman, director general of the Transportation Ministry, announced last week that a new air service agreement had been agreed with Thai officials

In a statement issued by the Ministry, Siterman said that the agreement had been signed in Tel Aviv by the heads of the two countries' civil aviation authorities with active participation of representatives from El AL and Thai Airways.

According to the newly signed air service agreement, both companies will now be allowed to add flights on the Tel Aviv-Bangkok route, which has been limited to seven weekly flights each.

However since El Al is the only operator on the route, with a code-sharing agreement with Thai Airways, no real competition is expected, and fares are not expected to change.
