Swiss WorldCargo, the air cargo division of Swiss International Air Lines Ltd., announced last week a significant increase of air cargo capacity between Zurich and Tel Aviv with the introduction of an additional A-340 aircraft on this route. The existing passenger service will upgrade from three times weekly to daily from March 12.

All in all, Swiss WorldCargo will offer around 42 tons of cargo capacity to and from one of the Near East’s most important gateways for air trade.

“To meet the demand of this diversified and ever growing market, Swiss WorldCargo will focus on its well established niche strategy and products, exploiting  its industry-leading track record of flown-as-planned,“ said Ronen Spira, Regional Manager Israel. “All our range of products will profit from the increased capacity; in particular, Swiss X-Presso customers will now benefit from same day connections to most of SWISS’s destinations worldwide.”

Dieter Vranckx, Managing Director Africa, Middle East and Asia, added: “While we welcome the added capacity, we are well aware that it is customer orientation that is the key to our success. We are therefore delighted that Ronen Spira and his Israel team recently received the annual Swiss WorldCargo Peak Award for Customer Service Excellence, having received a remarkable 97% rating of satisfied and loyal customers in the 2007 Customer Satisfaction Survey.”

Departing from Zurich at 9:45 and 22:45, the flights will arrive in Tel Aviv at 14:30 and 03:30 respectively. The westbound services will leave Tel Aviv at 15:50 and 05:30, and will reach Switzerland at 19:15 and 09:00.
