British Airways, American Airlines, and Iberia trans-Atlantic alliance which was established in late 2010 enhance their world wide services.
British Airways (BA) announced last week that it will commence non stop daily flights between London Heathrow and San Diego. The new transatlantic service from London is scheduled to begin on June 1, 2011 and will be operated with the carrier’s popular three class Boeing 777 aircraft. The daily flight will be the only route between Europe and the southern California city.
The new flights will be flown by the British Airways Boeing 777 aircraft, a comfortable and fuel efficient long haul airplane. The B777- 200 three class configuration includes 48 seats in Club World, 24 in World Traveller Plus and 203 in World Traveller, for a total aircraft capacity of 275.
In addition to passengers and their baggage, the British Airways B777 will carry up to 18 tons of cargo between London and San Diego.Israelis will be able to make a follow-on flight from Tel Aviv, via London, to San Diego.
The trip leaves Tel Aviv at 8 am (Israel time), and arrives in San Diego at 6 pm, Pacific Standard Time. British Airways Israel commercial manager Yael Katan said, "Israeli passengers love flying to the US, so the new frequency of flights will offer them maximum flexibility. In effect, a flight will leave almost every hour from London to New York or Chicago."
