British Midlands had already informed Israel's Tourism Ministry that it wanted to operate regular flights from Heathrow to Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport
According to sources closed to the Israeli Ministry of Transport the British international aviation department had recently approached the Israel Civil Aviation Administration, asking to negotiate new bilateral aviation agreement.
It is understood that three well known British passenger airlines, British Midlands (BMI) Astraeus, and Thomsonfly have all applied for license to operate regular flights from England to Israel.
BMI is the second-largest full-service scheduled British airline and an award winning UK airline, provids cheap flights from the UK to Europe, Middle East and the USA. Astraeus is one of the UK’s leading independent charter airlines and Thomsonfly which flies to 20 European cities in Ireland, the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Austria, Italy, France, Spain and Portugal from Coventry.
