Israel's industrial exports to Latin America, excluding diamonds, rose 37% in 2004 to $807 million. Such growth, according to the Export Institute has never been recorder in the last ten years.
 
Export Institute director Yechiel Assia predicts that exports to Latin America will grow by 20% this year, compared with last year. Asia added that in 2005 the Export Institute was planning to participate in three major exhibitions in Latin America in which 25 exporters would participate as well as to organize 4 trade delegations with the participation of 40 exporters, in an effort to boost sales to the region, with a focus on certain sectors.
 
Asia added that Brazil and Mexico increased their imports from Israel the increase was mostly attributed to growing sales of telecommunications equipment, chemicals and refined oil products.
 
Exports to Brazil rose 31% to $363 million, exports to Mexico rose 49% to $340 million and exports to Columbia rose 26% to $86 million.
 
Exports to Venezuela rose 84% to $19 million, exports to Argentina rose 76% to $55 million. Exports to Chile rose 8% to $46 millions.
