According to a survey conducted by Derby University’s Israel branch, 75% of senior Israeli tourism industry managers predict a 15% increase in tourist entries to israel in 2006

The survey was conducted prior to the opening of the 12th International Mediterranean Tourism Market 2006 ( IMTM) at the Tel Aviv Exhibition Grounds last Monday.

The IMTM exhibition aims primarily for the promotion of foreign tourism and tightening turism ties with many countries.

The Derby University’s survey noted however that the prediction relies on a calm security and political situation.

25% of respondents predict an increase in tourist entries of up to 20%.

The Derby survey found further that, should fuel prices do not rise further, the competition among airlines flying to Israel and package tours would lower the price of vacations in Israel by 5%.
