Brosh: food export to Russia will be up this year by 40%

In a statement given on the eve of the departure of an Israeli trade delegation to Russia Mr. Brosh said that during the first six months of 2004 food exports were up by 52.6% compared to the same period last year.

Mr. Shraga Brosh chairman of the Israeli export institute told reporters that food exports to Russia will go up this year by some 40% and will total us$23 millions.
 
In a statement given on the eve of the departure of an Israeli trade delegation to Russia Mr. Brosh said that during the first six months of 2004 food exports were up by 52.6% compared to the same period last year.
 
At present, some 30 Israeli firms are active in food exports to Russia.
Israel's main exports to Russia are : fresh fruit and vegetables, raw materials to the food industry, wine, concentrated juices , tea, coffee, fresh salads, dairy products, preserves and chocolates.
 
The delegation consists of 5 leading food exporters.
 
The delegates will visit Moscow World Food Exhibition as well as several department stores and take part in a seminar which will be followed by pre-arranged personal meetings session attended by local importers.
 
The visit is organized by Mr. Eli Regimov, Director General of the Israel Russia Bilateral Chamber of Commerce in co-operation with Mr. Chezzi Poliak the newly appointed trade representative at the Israeli Embassy in Moscow.
